The mechanics of buying in Spain are the same whether you are resident or not; what changes is the logistics of doing it from another country.
Plan for at least one viewing trip, and expect the legal stage to run for several weeks after an offer is accepted.
Money
You will need a Spanish bank account for direct debits such as utilities and community fees. Transfers should be made through a regulated channel, and your lawyer will need to see the source of funds.
Currency timing is a real decision. A specialist broker will typically beat a high-street bank rate, and forward contracts can remove uncertainty if you have a fixed completion date.
Documents
You will need an NIE, proof of funds and identification documents. Originals or properly apostilled copies are often required, so allow time.
